Jack Titherley

Creative Director

Jack is a Director, producer, actor playwright and part owner of Junk Drawer theatre Co.
Jack begun his directing/ producing career at York St John University and worked briefly for York theatre royal, producing a festival and directing/ acting in original shows.
Jack’s art aims to be provocative, modernist, experimental and engaging to audiences.
Jacks work aims to create an image of the human experience through a lens of reflection while taking inspiration from others.
Jacks main way of creating work revolves around the idea of play and chaos theory; how the unexpected can bring about the most creative or profound work while still being engaging.

Rachael Lanaghan

She/her

Head of Social Media and Marketing.

Rachael is passionate about theatre, music and anything artsy and is a part owner of Junk Drawer theatre co.
Beginning her journey at York St John, Rachael studied Drama: education and community and developed a passion for work that aids others.
She is inspired by storytellers and aims to keep memories alive through her work.
Whilst new to theatre marketing she is teaching herself ways to engage and interact with audiences through different media.
Rachael throws herself into any art she comes across and is passionate about helping others bring their work into the world.

Joseph McCallum 

He/they

Head creative technican

Musician, artist, performer, weirdo: Joe is a music minded creative who loves making theatre.
Most of their work involves the relationship between mental health and the performer but they are constantly looking for new challenges and opportunities.
Joe is our head creative technician, frequently using their perspective to create soundscapes and music for a variety of projects while also helping others realise practical ways to achieve their creative vision.

Lucy Connor Mulhall

Lucy is a MA graduate in Theatre who specialises in writing and aesthetics.

As our in house dramaturg she collaborates with artists to find voice for their work as well as creating immersive worlds of her own over the years. Their current fascinations are – mid 2000’s fantasy films, fairy tales and love.

Lucy has also self published three poetry books with a fourth on the way

Mitchell Strong

He/Him

Mitchell is a playwright and theatre maker that specialises in the absurdity in modern life.

As a playwright, Mitchell takes concepts, ideas and images and creates worlds, characters and narratives that aim to challenge the social structures that bind us and to ask questions about our existence.

Mitchell is inspired by writes such as Beckett, Pinter and Havel who are able to capture the absurd and comment of the human condition. While he originally studied to be an actor, Mitchell found a love for writing in his final years of University and works to continuously improve with each new piece.

Ben James Miller

He/Him

Ben is a songwriter, musician and poet.

Specialising in pop and country songwriting, Ben merges theatre and live music to create accessible performances – encouraging audiences to see shows they would not usually attend.

With a focus on lyricism and wordplay, Ben amplifies and romanticises the banal and the mundane; intending to create music that is simultaneously relatable and heartbreaking, yet somehow still hopeful.
